Electronic Filing Options
- IRS e-file -- Use the IRS e-file Services to electronically file both your federal and state individual tax returns.
- Virginia iFile -- use iFile, the Virginia Department of Taxation's free online service to file your State Tax Return.
- Local Commissioners of the Revenue -- View a list of Local Offices that can assist you with electronically filing your state returns using iFile or e-File.
- Commercial Software -- In an effort to encourage electronic filing, the Virginia Department of Taxation offers links to commercial products that provide online filing services. Each of these products provides software and services that will allow you to complete your state and/or federal tax return and e-file it at home using your PC. In some cases, there is no charge for the software and/or services.
