SUBJECT: New Legislation - Intangible Personal Property
The 1983 Session of the General Assembly enacted House Bill 436 which amends § 58-405 of the Code of Virginia to redefine inventory which is imported or scheduled for export and located in a foreign trade zone as a separate classification of intangible personal property exempt from State taxation.
The effective date is January 1. 1984.
